The British motor Will McLaren poor performance in F1 racing forced them to move to the 7th place in the ranking list.  The former No.1 McLaren is now struggling to get in to the top of the table. There is no secret that McLaren’s performance is still limited by the Honda’s engine and everybody knows this clearly. They are now in 7th position after Force India and Toro Rosso. The new comers like force India has passed McLaren recently. McLaren racing director Eric Boullier said “their chassis is good as like Ferrari chassis,” which means, he is not comparing their chassis to the top contenders like Red bull racers and Mercedes.

They are top in that list but in terms of chassis department it represents, he is not sure about their chassis – whether it is best or not. He also gave explanation about why he is not comparing to the Red Bull – he said “We cannot compare high, medium and low speed.  McLaren chassis is aerodynamically efficient, it has more power and it also bring more downforce and more downforce will cause more drag, to overcome this, we have more horse power unfortunately our will not give for now”. If Honda bring their upgraded engine with more horse power and McLaren will upgrade, and bring bigger chassis. But, today they have to work with their aerodynamically less efficient engine.

Honda is close for next engine Upgrades:

Honda’s low horse power engine is the culprit now, but Honda is now testing their next generation engine and it is almost ready to check in the upcoming races. Honda’s chief, Yusuke Hasegawa has informed that the upcoming engines are not fully new –  it is just the upgraded version of present engine.  In the present engine, still some good elements are performing well and they want to continue it. Last year, they introduced Turbo at the Canadian Grand prix, but it was a failure one. But McLaren has introduced their next generation chassis with rear wing design, which shows McLaren is moving faster than their pal Honda.

Earlier, the competition was between McLaren and Mercedes but the Honda’s current weakness has been shown clearly in Montreal and Baku’s long straight F1 races and it was thrown away from the racing track. Usually, McLaren was in the top three but Honda’s weakness pulled downwards to 7th position. Carlos Sainz the toro Rosso-Ferrari man also talked about McLaren’s failure.  Sainz finished 8th in Hungary, a place behind his county man Fernando Alonso. “The track was suitable for us but Alonso gave no chance to pass him, McLaren’s development rate is worrying me, I know he can do better than now – the problem is the development rate of Honda,” said Sainz.  Alonso and Sainz both are from the same country.

McLaren – Honda targeting 2017

Probably most people think like this and many rumors came around recently but McLaren ended these r rumors with their clear statement. McLaren and Honda’s relationship is now closer than ever. Yusuki said, “Up and down is normal, but presently, the relationship between McLaren and Honda is excellent and Honda is now stepping up – and we are getting closer and closer daily and Honda will be very close to the present top ranker Mercedes in 2017”.  They will bounce back in 2017 – this year is not good for McLaren – Honda, but their real performance is coming in the following year. It is hard time for McLaren – Honda and they are currently in 8th position and it is too difficult to reach no. 3 in Monza circuit, Italy. Even though the McLaren ace driver Fernando Alonso’s consistency was quite remarkable, he is the seventh fastest in all practice sessions. He will reach higher position next year.
